Ask a real doctor!
i don’t care
It’d be best to ask your doctor. I’ve heard some women say that baby lotions work fairly well, but I’m afraid I don’t know from experience.
Aveeno products. Anything containing Oatmeal.
My doctor says cetaphil cream is best for eczema. It’s very mild so it should be ok for a baby but I would check with your doctor.
baby oil
olive oil i found to be the best. pure ones from the health food specialist found in dark bottles are really good. just massage onto the affected areas every day and it should relieve the dry skin.
Aloe squeezed from a plant, not from a bottle.
an oatmeal bath is best. and you need to get some special cream from the doctor my best friends babie had it it went away of course
eucerin cream..works great!!
Arbonne’s Baby Care line is second to none! The products have worked on babies when everything else has failed. The line is pure, safe and beneficial. I suggest using the 1/2 baby lotion and 1/2 baby oil and it will clear up amazingly fast!
My daughter had the same thing al over her body for some time after she was born, and a Doctor finally told me Neosporin or something similar will help, which it did, it pretty much got rid of it after ahwile. If there were any flare-ups, we’d put it on, and they’d go away soon after. She has since grown out of it…
i don’t want to seem unconcerned but anything to do with my cild I would ONLY ask a doctor about. Some people on here aren’t concerned about telling you something that would hurt your child.
And yes mineral oils do more damage because the skin cannont breathe under the oil.
My daughter uses Aveeno liquid soap on my 2 grandchildren who have skin issues. It works very well.
both of my kids have it (daughter 9 and son 1)
the best treatment I have found to be any help at all ……. regular baby lotion …… everything else seems to burn them or irritate their condition worse…
Oatmeal bath will take away the itching and is gentle for a baby.I have eczema and always take baths with oatmeal it works really well.so sorry for your baby.good luck
“Apply a moisturizing lotion to the affected areas as least twice a day. Apply the moisturizer immediately following her bath, while she is still damp. Use a product like Eucerin, Lubriderm, Alpha Keri, Moisturel, Aquaphor, Curel, or Vaseline.”
We just had the same problem with our baby girl. The doctor said to use aquaphor and hydrocortisone cream. Both are over the counter. The aquaphor is a lotion that looks and feels like vaseline but it works very well. You can find it in the lotion section at just about any store (found it at walmart). Same for hydrocortisone in the pharmacy section. It cleaered up in about 2 weeks.
cetaphil. ask your pharmasist for others. qv wash is another good one but not sure about availability outside of australia
Arbonne has a wonderful Baby care line and there are pediatricians that are recommending it even over using prescription creams. I can email you before and after pictures of an infant with eczema that had dramatic improvement after using Arbonne products.
Arbonne uses no petroleum or animal products in any of their products.
Here is my web site if you would like more info on Arbonne.

Lotions do not work particurally well on my sons eczema and it gets bad sometimes. My Dr prescribed Triaminalone Cream for my son it WORKS GREAT! It will clear it up in no time flat. Dove soap and water at bath time. You can also use hydrocortizone cream to help with the itch. Get a humidifier NOW dry air makes it worse. The winter is so bad here because of our electric dry heat. Use natural fiber clothing cotton is the best and let baby go with out a diaper for a few hours daily That helps them on their bum..good luck please have a Dr check it out as it may be psoriasis..A dermatologist can help you out more so than a pediatrician.
eczema is very broad term, please define lesion in size, shape site, color, seasonal variation if any , lesion is flat, dry or scaly ,i am dermatologist i would like to help you. Also write the age of your baby.
If it is ATOPIC DERMATITIS emollients are good.
Please don’t seek th e advice of the loonies on this site. This is YOUR BABY you’re talking about. Take him/her to your trusted doctor. Please.
TRY ALVEENO FOR BABIES IT IS GREAT I KNOW. MY NEPHEWS LITTLE BOY HAS IT AN THAT IS WHAT THEY US NOW I TRIED TO GET THEM TO USES IT BUT NO . THEN I HAD HIM FOR A FEW DAYS AN WHEN THEY PICKED HIM UP THEY COULD SEE THE DIFFERENCE, SO NOW THEY USE IT ON HIM EVERY DAY.GOOD LUCK
My daughter had is and we used Eucerin… and the dr also gave us a prescription for some I can’t remember the name..
AVEENO! Love the stuff. My baby has eczema on his cheeks and it takes time but it does work really well. I tried that eucerin, and it made it so much worse. (That’s what my doctor told me to use). Guess they aren’t always right.
There is a product that is amazing called Dermamed. It’s safe for babies, and has no side effects. It’s all natural and works better than cortisone. My son also had eczema, and it worked wonders for him. I applied it 3 times a day, and the eczema was gone in 4 days. I would suggest trying to find out what is causing the eczema also. For my son it was cats and fabric softner.
Here’s a link for dermamed.
I used the all purpose on in the green tube. It works great!!

I agree with the others who mentioned Arbonne products. They are absolutely amazing.
Baby oil is basicaly mineral oil. Anything containing mineral oil or petroleum will irritate eczema further. I have been using Arbonne skin care line for awhile and it has worked wonders on my skin. My children use their baby line which is excellent also, and recommended for eczema.
I use eucerin cream on my kids ..I bathe them in oatmeal baths any lotion with oatmeal
Please check out Wedela’s calendula baby oil and soap but you should always ask your pediatrican or pediatric dermatologist for their advice first!
Not every baby’ skin is the same. But you can try Triple Cream. I got it @ Walmart. My baby has eczema since she was 3 weeks old. Now she is 16 weeks and still has it. I’ve been trying diferentes creams prescribed by her ped. doctor and nothing seems working, like: baby vaseline, aquaphor, hydrocortizone… none of them made her feel better. I have been trying Triple Cream for 2 days and the itch is no longer bothering her like before. She is been sleeping great when I put this cream on her at nigth. I hope this cream works for your baby. Test it in a small area afected first to see if it is good for your baby’ skin.
