i am not sure if it is something i am eating since i am mostly breastfeeding. i gave her a little bit of formula at night but it is soy based. i am sure if it an allergic reaction to the johnson and johnson soap, but i was using it for few weeks before and that never happened. she is only 5 weeks old. did your child ever experienced that before and how long did it take to disappear.

It could be baby acne
When my daughter was a few eeks old she got a rash on her face…turns out if was from the detergent I was using on her crib sheets, I started using hypoallergenic detergent and it disappeared.
Does it kind of look like small pimples? If yes then it’s “baby acne” which is harmless and nothing to worry about. If you aren’t sure call up his pediatrician and set up an appointment.

It could be that your baby is adjusting to being outside of the womb, her hormones are finding their own balance, and the “leftover” hormones from being in the womb (from mom) are leaving her body through a little bit of baby acne. It is totally normal, my daughter experienced some baby acne and it cleared up in about a week or so.
You will want to be sure to use the least amount of products on her skin as possible, don’t bathe her too much either – their skin is pretty sensitive and tender – so don’t “over-product” them. Be sure that the shampoo/lotion that you use on her is for sensitive skin, and free of dyes and chemicals. I was shocked to find out that a lot of products have some horrible stuff in them, I ended up using the brand EarthMama AngelBaby – it is free of ALL toxins, chemicals, and dyes.
As far as your diet goes while breastfeeding, I would not suspect that she is experiencing a lot of skin reactions from what you are eating, usually their stomachs and bowels are the direct indicator of what foods they are sensitive to… If you feel that her break out is not getting any better after changing her soap/lotions, then play with your diet – adding ginger to your diet helps with sensitive breastfeeders.
If all else, talk to your pediatrician – they might have some other insight or ideas that they want to provide you with — Definitely talk to the doc if the rash does not clear up in a week or so, or if it gets worse…
