I have been looking online and I can’t find anything. I am not on any medication, not coming off a cold or any other problem, but about a week ago a small part of the skin on my stomach started to be very sensitive. Now it is a much larger area and it is really sensitive to touch. It feels like sunburn pain but there is no visible rash or anything and my skin does not feel hot or warm to the touch. It is really bugging me.
Do you know what is happening?
It could be the start of shingles. Call your doctor right away. The sooner it is diagnosed and treated the better for you.
Sounds like a nerve type pain.Sometimes shingles will show up like this with a peculiar pain a few days before the typical blistery rash develops.Sometimes there is no rash with the shingles.Sometimes one of the superficial nerves in your abdominal wall gets inflamed from minor trauma, etc.,and you get a pain like this.If this continues, you may need to be checked by your MD.In the meantime, one of the sunburn preps with aloe might make your life more pleasant or even cure you.Good luck!
Perhaps you have an allergy!
I have had the same problem for the past week. My entire torso area feels like it’s sunburned, but there is no evidence of a rash. I thought it might just be dry or chapped skin, but lotion and even the girly bath beads haven’t helped. It has surprised me that so many people have posted online about this, but no one seems to have an answer. Went to see the MD today and he wasn’t very helpful either. I was told that shingles would not cross the midline. I would rather it just be shingles than some mysterious nerve problem. I am open to any ideas as well.
